A woman, 20, sought treatment as an area hospital for a gunshot wound to her lower leg, while police were called to a report of shots fired.
The reported shooting occurred in the the 900 block of Union Street at approximately 11:17 PM.
In the course of an investigation police learned that there had been an altercation between the victim and at least one other woman.
At one point the argument turned physical and a gun was fired at least one time.
The investigation into this incident is on-going, "as detectives continue to piece together who was involved in the altercation and what led to the shooting," police say.
